ICC World Test Championship
Run by the ICC, the World Test Championship sees nine Test playing nations compete over three years for the right to be named the best Test cricketing nation in the world. The first edition of this new championship begun in 2019 with each team set to take on six other opponents – three at home and three away – over Test series that will comprise of two to five Test matches.
With points awarded for each Test match one it means every single encounter matters. The 2019-21 championship will see India take on England and Australia, while Pakistan face Bangladesh and South Africa and Sri Lanka meet West Indies and England.
In June 2021, the top two teams will come face-to-face in a five-day final at Lord’s to crown the tournament’s inaugural champion.
ICC ODI World Cup
If the 2019 50-over World Cup is anything to go by the 2023 tournament in India is guaranteed to be a thrill a minute. Between February 9 and March 26, 10 teams will head to India to battle it out for the crown in a tournament that will be held completely in India for the very first time.
